Library Outreach: Cindy Grant reading "I Wish I Had Duck Feet" at the Dr. Seuss themed Children's Fair at the St. Joseph Expo Center April 29th, 2008. Over 2000 children and adults came to the fair. The library shared Cat-In-the-Hat bookmarks and displayed plans for the new library. Cindy, Library Director, Corey Kudrna Wildlife Specialist, and Charles Marshall, Park Ranger gave 10 minute presentations to kids through out the day. They know this book by heart now and the baby Ducklings were a big hit with the kids.

Summer 2008 "Catch the Reading Bug" Challenge
Carolyn Hall, Summer Program Coordinator continues to host presenters and storytimes throughout the month of June. The very last presentation is a Butterfly study and release at Squaw Creek, 10 am on July 29th. Call the library for more information 660-442-5700. The reading challenge runs through July 31st. Paticipants are reading 18 books or 500 minutes and attending at least 4 library events to earn the program prize.
Carolyn Hall reading to local children at the May 31st Summer Program Kick-Off Pic-Nic Event. 80 children and adults came to register for the reading program and have lunch on the library lawn.
ROLAND SMITH - Author of young-adult books about animals and outdoor adventure - gave a presentation on Sunday, June 22nd. This was a great outing for families and drew a crowd of 70+ people!
